Nitrogen plastic welding is the latest technology for the repair of thermoplastics like bumper covers, headlights, underhood and interior parts. Thanks to the strength provided by the nitrogen fusion weld, you can repair damage to tabs, mounting holes, flanges, and grille bars that are impossible with two-part adhesives. Mastery of nitrogen plastic welding will increase the number of plastic parts you can repair, allowing you to make more profit.

Our two-day PR-02 Plastic Repair & Refinishing course focuses on the hands-on skills you need to repair a bumper from start to finish. It is more comprehensive than our PR-01 Nitrogen Welding Course in that it discusses working out dents and refinishing the plastic, skills that are essential to the plastic repair process. This course will cover the following topics:

• Identify different types of plastic
• Explain the basic nitrogen welding process
• Properly operate the plastic welder
• Work dents out of bumpers
• Weld a tear to the edge of a bumper
• Repair a torn slot tab
• Repair a torn bumper mounting flange
• Repair a torn flexible hinge tab
• Repair a thermoset polyurethane (PUR) bumper
• Properly finish the repair with filler and primer
• Refinish textured plastic bumpers

A: Polyvance will provide lunch to all participants on both Thursday and Friday at a local restaurant. Other meals are your responsibility.

Q: What about transportation to and from the airport?

A: Transportation to and from the airport is your responsibility. Rental cars are readily available at all area airports. Do NOT take a taxi! It will cost more than renting a car.

Q: What if I decide to cancel?

A: If you cancel two weeks prior to the class, 100% of your deposit will be refunded. If you cancel within two weeks of the class, you will get 50% of your deposit refunded. If you do not show up for your scheduled course, you will forfeit your deposit. Forfeited deposits will NOT be credited toward your open account with Polyvance, nor will it serve as credit toward future course registrations.
