Full Day Plastic Repair & Refinishing Course (PR-04)
Nitrogen plastic welding is the latest technology for the repair of thermoplastics like bumper covers, headlights, underhood and interior parts. Thanks to the strength provided by the nitrogen fusion weld, you can repair damage to tabs, mounting holes, flanges, and grille bars that are impossible with two-part adhesives. Mastery of nitrogen plastic welding will increase the number of plastic parts you can repair, allowing you to make more profit.
Our full day PR-04 Plastic Repair & Refinishing course is designed to prepare a student with basic body shop knowledge and skills to understand the complete process of repairing and refinishing a plastic bumper cover. The majority of focus will be placed on PP-blend bumper covers, but the course will also touch on PUR (thermoset polyurethane) bumpers and other plastic parts, such as headlights and washer bottles.
This course will be a condensed version of our two-day course offered at the factory. This course is intended to be delivered in the customer’s place of business, so the facilities for instruction will not be as complete. Due to time and facility constraints, some compromises will have to be made with regard to instruction.
The course is more comprehensive than our PR-01 Nitrogen Welding Course in that it discusses working out dents and refinishing the plastic, skills that are essential to the plastic repair process. This course will cover the following topics:
