This one-day course will teach students how to repair and refinish automotive plastic parts like bumper covers, headlight tabs, fender liners, fluid reservoirs, and more.
Students will get hands-on experience using the nitrogen plastic welder to make strong repairs on a variety of damaged plastic parts. Emphasis will be placed on the proper nitrogen fusion welding technique.
Students will also observe a step-by-step demonstration of the proper use of plastic refinishing products such as adhesion promoter, filler, and primer. This course will also include a demonstration of the proper way to remove dents from bumper covers.
Shops that take advantage of plastic repair opportunities can experience reduced cycle time, reduced average cost to repair, and increased profits.
The PR-04 is a condensed version of our two-day course offered at the factory. It will take approximately 8 hours to complete. This course is intended to be delivered in the customer’s place of business, so the facilities for instruction will not be as complete. Due to time and facility constraints, some compromises will have to be made with regard to instruction.

Is it recognized under I-CAR®’s Industry Training Alliance® program? | Yes. Students who complete this training are eligible to receive seven (7) I-CAR® annual training credits. Students MUST perform all hands-on activities and complete the pre-test and post-test evaluations. I-CAR® credits are included with the cost of this course because Polyvance is an I-CAR® Sustaining Partner (only in the United States). |

Cost | $2,700 per session for up to four students simultaneously (assuming two welders and workstations are available at your shop for the training). Depending on location, there may be additional travel expenses. |

Credit toward I-CAR knowledge areas in certain roles as well as annual training requirements can be awarded by taking one of our I-CAR Training Alliance course activities listed above. Students who successfully complete this approved training are eligible to apply for I-CAR credit hour(s) and/or Knowledge Area recognition.
