Texture Refinishing Course (PR-05)

This course will teach technicians the proper process of mixing and spraying texture coating on plastic parts.

In this course, students will learn about texture coating mix ratios and the proper spray technique that will enable the refinish of textured plastic parts.

Students will get hands-on experience spraying texture coating on automotive plastic parts.

The knowledge gained from this course will allow shops to restore textured parts back to like-new appearance.

Shops that take advantage of these opportunities can experience reduced cycle time, reduced average cost to repair, and increased profits.

Detailed Course Information:

Course Name	PR-05 Texture Refinishing
Description	This course will teach technicians the proper process of mixing and spraying texture coating on plastic parts.
Instructor-led or Online?	Instructor-led.
Training Needs	Many repairable textured parts are discarded because people are unaware that textured plastic parts can be successfully repaired and refinished. Many technicians are not familiar with the proper way to mix texture paint to achieve the desired grain size and appearance. Most paint technicians default to applying paint in a heavy, wet coat and are not as familiar with the special technique required to achieve a textured appearance. Many technicians do not know the proper steps required to prepare a polypropylne plastic surface for paint.

Prerequisites	No prior training course experience necessary.
Recommended Experience	Familiarity with the use of a paint spray gun.
Time Required	Approximately two hours.
Is it recognized under I-CAR®’s Industry Training Alliance® program?	Yes. Students who complete this training are eligible to receive one (1) I-CAR® annual training credit. Students MUST perform all hands-on activities and complete the pre-test and post-test evaluations. I-CAR® credits are included with the cost of this course because Polyvance is an I-CAR® Sustaining Partner (only in the United States).
Location	Scheduled at your place of business.
Work Area Requirements	Access to a classroom area and paint booth.
Cost	$1,000 per session for up to six students simultaneously. Depending on location, there may be additional travel expenses.
