In 2018, nitrogen plastic welding was added as a scored component in the SkillsUSA Collision Repair Technology competition.

This video demonstrates the repair of a two-inch tear to the edge of the bumper cover using the nitrogen plastic welder. This is the same type of repair competitors will be required to perform at the SkillsUSA national competition.
