Welding PVC - Temperature Matters!

Polyvance nitrogen plastic welders offer precise temperature and flow control to accommodate the varying melting points of different thermoplastics. Welding at the correct temperature is crucial, as using a higher-than-recommended setting can compromise the strength of the plastic weld.

PVC is a good example of a heat-sensitive plastic. Welding at an excessively high temperature can scorch the plastic, even when using nitrogen gas. This video demonstrates the difference in weld quality when PVC is welded at the recommended temperature versus a higher-than-recommended temperature.
