Thermoset polyurethane (PUR) is a non-meltable plastic, so nitrogen plastic welders cannot be used to repair it. Instead, airless plastic welders can be used to create a hot-melt glue-style repair.
To identify if your bumper cover is made from thermoset polyurethane, check for the ID symbol “PUR” or “RIM” molded into the back.
