POM is the abbreviation for Polyoxymethylene. It is not used very often in automotive applications. When it is used, you will often find it in parts like door handles, speaker grills, mirrors, window winders, . It is used when you need a plastic that combines high strength, hardness, and stiffness over a broad temperature range It is also used in applications where chemical resistance is necessary like fuel pump housings, fuel rails, fuel caps, fuel filler necks among many others.
